MobyDex

MobyDex – Multimodal Mobility-Index

Challenge

In order to reduce the volume of private motorized transport, optimizing local public transport is essential. Comprehensive optimization requires an integrated approach that does not stop at the borders of individual municipalities and aligns the public transportation offers with actual needs.

Goal

MobyDex is developing a comprehensive data, processing and collaboration platform that systematically analyzes offer and demand and enables regional public and corporate mobility planners to jointly create needs-based solutions. The platform is used in two pilot areas for location assessment, global analysis and the evaluation of future mobility concepts.

Contribution

As part of MobyDex, the members of the Networked Embedded Systems group primarily work on the models and algorithms for recording and evaluating the available offers. For this purpose, public transport timetable data is linked with delay and cancellation information as well as the offers of relevant micro-mobility providers.
