Bachelor Project: Deep Learning for Computer Vision

The goal of this bachelor project is to familiarize students with the basics of machine learning and the development process of a fully functional deep learning-based computer vision model.
Participants will be implementing different steps of a machine learning pipeline and will need to identify and solve various upcoming problems.
While we encourage to work as a group, each participant is expected to acquire a solid knowledge base during the project.

Note that the number of participants in this project is strictly limited. If you want to participate in this course, please send an email to peter.roch@uni-due.de or bijan.shahbaz-nejad@uni-due.de to indicate your interest. You will then be added to the moodle course, where the procedures and the project material will be made available. The kick-off meeting will take place on April 14th 2026 from 10:15 a.m. in the RoboticsLab (Room SA-316), further registration is not possible. Participation in the kickoff meeting is mandatory.

This course may be held in German and English depending on the participants. The project is suitable for students at the bachelor level – However, we recommend previous knowledge in python and machine learning frameworks (like PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
