As part of the FAIR project, NES is developing software to capture environmental measurements such as temperature and air pressure using mobile phones. In close cooperation with the FAIR project partner KME, NES has deployed a number of sensors in the city center of Karlsruhe that will be used to make environmental measurements during the EISZEIT. Together with the national German Weather Service (DWD), the researchers a NES are determining whether the measurements of the visitors can be used to accurately determine the temperature during the event.
