A goal of the FAIR project is to improve the data basis of the Deutsche Wetterdienst (DWD). In this context, researchers from NES are investigating the suitability of stationary and mobile devices for the automated acquisition of temperature data at a large scale.
The technical basis for the processing of temperature data is provided by a number of FAIR services that were developed by students and members of NES as part of a master’s project group. In addition to the storage of the captured temperature data, the services also enable data retrieval by scientists from NES and the DWD.
