On October 27th, SMART-ACTION organised the experts panel at the First International Conference on Cognitive Internet of Things Technologies (COIOTE). Discussions went around the potential cross fertilisation areas of IoT and cognitive sciences. A list of topics of interests has been proposed by SMART-ACTION and refined with the experts. Several participants in the room shown interest in contributing to the developing roadmap.
On the following day, SMART-ACTION organised a workshop "Innovating beyond IoT". In four talks, experts on nanotechnology, biotechnology and communication science showed current research trends in their areas and explored possible links to IoT. The statements where lively discussed by the participants of the workshop, coming from Europe and the Middle East. The result of this workshop will also be fed into the SMART-ACTION roadmap, which is about to appear end of the year. Stay tuned!
