General information
The Networked Embedded Systems group offers students the opportunity to write a seminar paper each semester in order to practice their academic skills.
We offer the following topics every semester, alternating according to interest:
- Robotics and Automation
- Data Science
- Computer Vision
This seminar is suitable for students at Bachelor and Master level. However, it cannot be chosen by Master AI-SE students. The preparation of a seminar paper provides the necessary skills for scientific work. The students learn to deal intensively and independently with a specific topic and to reproduce this in written form and in a presentation.
The seminars of the Networked Embedded Systems group are held in English.
The effort for this seminar is 6 ECTS.
The maximum number of participants per semester is limited to 12.
The current topic for the upcoming semester and all further information like the kickoff meeting or the respective contact person, can be found below.
Current Topic
Unfortunately, due to the high level of interest, all participant slots have already been taken.
Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a thriving field at the intersection of computer science, artificial intelligence, and linguistics. It focuses on enabling computers to understand, interpret, and generate human language in a way that is both meaningful and useful in modern applications.
In this seminar, we will be examining the concepts behind NLP. Hereby, we will tackle a variety of topics such as text classification, sentiment analysis, language translation, named entity recognition (NER), question-answering systems, text summarization, chatbots and conversational AI, and language model architectures like transformers.
The kickoff meeting for the seminar will take place on April 15th, from 10.00h to 12.00h in SA-126. The participation in the kickoff meeting is mandatory.
This seminar is suitable for students at the bachelor level. The students attending this seminar can prepare their material in either English or German, depending on their language preference. Please also note that the maximum number of participants is limited. If you have questions regarding this seminar, please email arman.arzani@uni-due.de.
