Neelie Kroes blogs about the NOBEL Project

The recently completed NOBEL project – Neighbourhood Oriented Brokerage ELectricity and monitoring system – tackles the challenge of smart cities and especially smart grids with an innovative approach that allows end users, small scale producers and grid operators to operate on a local market and trade directly among each other.  Vice-President of the European Commission Neelie Kroes dedicates a blog entry to the project and highlights especially the successful real word deployment in Alginet, a small town in Spain.
